Mirrorlist Without Kernel.org

pacman-mirrorlist-20260213-1

I'm in the middle of a system update and addressed the mirrorlist.pacnew message and noticed that the usual server option for kernel.org was missing, and was curious to know how/why that happened.

I see https://archlinux.org/mirrors/kernel.org shows recent activity and the mirrorlist generator included it.

Re: Mirrorlist Without Kernel.org

The link shows, that completion is not 100% and the error log has "Connection timed out."
Since this is persisting it is expected that mirrorlist is updated with this permanent fail.

Have a look at https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Reflector
on how to pick up good mirrors for you.

Re: Mirrorlist Without Kernel.org

It only looks to apply to their IPv6 address though.
IPv4 appears to be fine.

I see https://archlinux.org/mirrors/kernel.org fnf shows recent activity and the mirrorlist generator included it.

If the mirror has intermittent or partial failures, it can get dropped from the default list even if IPv4 still works. You could force it back manually or use Reflector with IPv4-only filtering to keep more stable results.
