I just built a tool that installs Arch with Native ZFS on root.. and it's 100% FREE!!!
There are 2 versions sofar
core, just openzfs + boot environments
or
server, includes pre-configured snapshots, rollback, boot environments and a selection of "k" commands designed to automate some the pointy parts .. including a universal package-manager kpkg for (apt/dnf/pacman).
+1-up!
pacman -Syu --> "SPLAT!!" ... Rollback, reboot, Done! Every package install gets a ZFS snapshot automatically. Every upgrade is instantly reversible.
What it does:
- ZFS on root with ZFSBootMenu boot environments
- Kernel pinned to what archzfs supports (handled automatically)
- Rolling snapshots via sanoid
- WireGuard, eBPF (bcc/bpftrace/perf), NVIDIA — checkboxes at install (server)
- No forced desktop. Core or server profile. You install your own DE
What it doesn't do:
- No custom kernel
- No package manager replacement — pacman is still pacman
- No telemetry, no accounts, no cloud
It also supports CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Rocky, and RHEL from the same ISO all with endless reliable storage on tap!.
Cheers!!
Anthony
