[SOLVED] Mate won't start on lightdm.

Hi,
I used arch now 3 months with gnome, and now I want to switch to mate. I installed mate mate-extra lightdm and lightdm-gtk-greeter. I can login, but even after changing the /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf it always starts gnome.

Hi, if you're using lightdm-gtk-greeter then I think you might be editing the wrong configuration file, you should be editing /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf or use the settings gui.

Specifically https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/LightD … lt_session and https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/LightD … _autologin if you're abusing lightdm to autologin to a session or otherwise cannot control the session using the greeter GUI.
