Conky stops updating system info after a while (clock freezes)

Hi everyone,

I'm having a frustrating issue with Conky on Arch Linux. After running smoothly for a while, it completely stops updating all system information. The clock freezes, cpu/ram usage indicators stop refreshing, and the whole widget just locks up.

I even tried asking AI to troubleshoot the issue, but no luck so far.

Has anyone encountered this freeze issue before, or is there a known fix/workaround for it? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Here is my current environment:

OS: Arch Linux

WM/DE: KDE plasma

Display Server: [Wayland]

What's the process state?

ps aux  | grep conky

Do you get this on plasma/X11 or weston (wayland reference implementation)?

If this is a recent regression, there're issues w/ linux 7.2 (try the LTS kernel), linux-firmware-amdgpu (try to downgrade) and ddcutil (though afaiu that's now fixed, but there're apparently long standing issues w/ powerdevil specifically: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/KDE#Va … n_problems )
