Missing Git submodules when installing from AUR

I was trying to install open mpi from AUR (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/openmpi-git). After downloading the snapshot, extracting, and running makepkg in fish I got a message saying "The submodule 'config/oac' is missing." The CLI recommended running "git clone --recursive . . ." so I tried that too, but it didn't work as well.

Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Missing Git submodules when installing from AUR

https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/ … penmpi-git doesn't contain any git related commands - looks like the pkgbuild is not up to what's required

Re: Missing Git submodules when installing from AUR

You have tried using openmpi 5.0.11-1 from [extra] repo ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky
