Hey there,
I recently performed a pacman -Syu, which upgraded my system to 7.2.10-arch1-1 - unfortunately, my audio was dead afterwards (all channels: internal speakers, mic, HDMI, headphone jack). This persisted when upgrading to 7.2.11 a few days later.
"Checking" (or rather browsing without detailed knowledge) the logs didn't give me any clue, obviously no audio devices could be recognized at all; and it was consistent across KDE Plasma (latest) and Hyprland/noctalia desktops.
I checked whether typical audio-related packages had been upgraded, but this was not the case (like sof-firmware, I was running the latest version already, same for all the ALSA related stuff).
Previously, I was running 7.2.9 without any issues - so I performed a rollback to https://archive.archlinux.org/repos/2026/10/15 via pacman -Syyuu. Audio is fully functional again, but of course this is only a temporal solution (at least for me).
I'd like to provide additional information (and perhaps post it to LKML) and would be willing to upgrade to 7.2.11 again in order to recreate the problem, but would need some help filtering the logs etc. for actual helpful information for the developers.
If this a crazy idea, just let me know :-) I'm by no means an experienced Arch (or Linux) user, my last experiments date back 20 years ago.
Regards,
Wonko
