KDE freezes when doing an I/O operation.

When i copy a big folder or use CUDA to train models, the whole system freezes. I can't access TTYs or click on anything. Pointer does move and audio works fine. There is no freezes when i stress the CPU and memory only. What could be the problem? I am on propritary NVIDIA drivers and the disk is LUKS encrypted. I am on zen kernel.
