GDM does not open login screen after update

Hi guys I'm using Arch Linux with Gnome and GDM on a Surface Pro 9 and after updating around last week I now cant access my user from the default login screen that opens upon booting the device.

I've tried to solve this issue on my own but unfortunately I haven't been successful. I've also used Claude and other AI to help/search but I'm still unsuccessful.

Pretty much what happens when booting is that the device boots into a "new user" default Gnome desktop, and the introduction Tour app opens with "Welcome to Arch Linux" so it seems like its just booted me into a brand new user, however I cant do anything at all (I cant open a terminal, any apps) on this page except check settings, the only way I've been able to get back into my user is by using TTY2 and editing the  /etc/gdm/custom.conf file to turn on autologin for my user then restarting gdm service, but obviously for security reasons I dont want to keep my device like this as anyone can open my computer and instantly access my files without any password login.

If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated, I just made my Arch forums account and although I've been using Arch for about a year now I'd say I'm still new to Linux.
