Avidemux crashes without strace

Suddenly, Avidemux started crashing. However, if I start it from a terminal using strace, it just works. Why?

Re: Avidemux crashes without strace

Race condition?
strace will slow down (and to some extent synchronize) the execution considerably.
Can you run it in gdb?
Can you get a better baktrace than that? In doubt it might leave behind a https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Core_d … _core_dump ?

Does starting avixdemux3_qt5 from a terminal using strace also works for you ?
If not, you probably have a different issue and should start a new thread.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Re: Avidemux crashes without strace

Don't - that's the fontconfig issue.
Either
- downgrade fontconfig to 2.17.x (will work)
- run "fc-cache -r" # might work
- remove /etc/conf.d/48-guessfamily.conf # or this might

Guess that should be /etc/fonts/conf.d/48-guessfamily.conf ?
