Hi,
A recent update on one of my Arch instances generated the following message:
(15/20) Updating module dependencies...
depmod: ERROR: zstd: Data corruption detected
depmod: ERROR: failed to load symbols from /lib/modules/7.2.9-arch1-1/kernel/drivers/net/can/usb/etas_es58x/etas_es58x.ko.zst: Invalid argument
depmod: ERROR: zstd: Data corruption detected
depmod: ERROR: zstd: Data corruption detectedI can't imagine what could have caused it, I think the disk is okay, it's a Samsung SSD formatted with EXT4.
Manually decompression seems to work ok:

Could be IO, memory or CPU - or a bug in depmod.
Are there any IO errors in your dmesg/system journal?
sudo depmod -aDoes the error remain?

Thanks for your reply -
No IO errors I could see in dmesg.
'sudo depmod -a' output is clean.

Possibly due to the IO load during the update and maybe https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Solid_state_drive#TRIM ?
Or a problem w/ the filesystem.
