Where to report gitlab.archlinux.org incorrect anubis config ?

Q: see title

While waitng for access to "source files" from https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/any/nextcloud/ I got this message

Interne Serverfout: beheerder heeft Anubis verkeerd geconfigureerd. Vraag de beheerder om de logs te bekijken..

Translation :
Internal Server Error: The administrator has configured Anubis incorrectly. Ask the administrator to check the logs.

Under that message this was shown on a yellowish background

Re: Where to report gitlab.archlinux.org incorrect anubis config ?

Viewing the sources works for me (https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/ … /nextcloud) - and I am also still waiting for my 2FA reset on GitLab for almost two years.
I guess if you don't have access to GitLab, i.e. with an account, maybe use one of (i.e. the most fitting) the mailing lists.

Re: Where to report gitlab.archlinux.org incorrect anubis config ?

I do have an archlinux gitlab account (registered before it needed manual actions by account support) but have no idea where to file bugs for the archlinux gitlab instance.

I've just subscribed to arch-devops ML and sended a message to that list.

Ah, I see. If you want to report a general bug in GitLab, I'd report it upstream to GitLab's repo.
If you want to report a bug pertaining to GitLab as hosted by Arch Linux, I'd report it here: https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/teams/devops

Re: Where to report gitlab.archlinux.org incorrect anubis config ?

gitlab currently runs level 6 anubis which takes an insane amount of CPU and unhealthy amount of RAM and time to finish
On less equipped hardware it will take forever™ or fail.

gitlab.freedesktop.org also uses anubis and doesn't give this error , gitlab.org itself doesn't seem to use anubis .
This looks very much like an error in the archlinux gitlab setup.

They don't have projects defined (atleast none visible to normal users) so there's no option to report a bug.

I guess that means 90ish procent of existing desktops (and 98% of laptops/mobile phones) are underspecced for running anubis ?

No, that system should™ be sufficient - do you get that error

* immediately
* regardless of browser (javascript) implementation?

Leaving aside my personal grudges against that old spoil spot for unrelated reasons, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anubis_(s … _criticism has been brought up before.
Yes.

Unfortunately I've also no better idea how to deal with the current state of the internet, excluding of course https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPfsr8BBdA8

Ryzen 9 9950X , 64 GiB DDR5, amd 9060XT with 16 GiB, one 2 TiB SSD on PCIe 5

:skull:
And gitlab.freedesktop.org is using difficulty 2 ATM, and it's not a "big deal"

Hmm, I think the error "Administrator has configured Anubis incorrectly" is potentially misleading in this situation. It doesn't necessarily mean the server configuration is broken globally; a failed challenge flow or some other transient issue could also be involved, depending on how Anubis handles such failures...

But hey, when I encountered this error, a hard refresh was enough to get through hmm hmm

Re: Where to report gitlab.archlinux.org incorrect anubis config ?

Yeah, I thought so. And no, I meant difficulty 2 shouldn't be a big deal for the hardware in question, not that there's no meaningful difference b/w 2 and 6

Re: Where to report gitlab.archlinux.org incorrect anubis config ?

I've seen that the https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/infrastructure/ repo had some previous issues reported, where Anubis was mentioned, and seems to include Anubis setup...

Reported things there just now: https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/ … _items/879

Re: Where to report gitlab.archlinux.org incorrect anubis config ?

Yup, the only diff between that screenshot and the one I saw is mine was in dutch.

I have experimented a bit and falkon never gave me the error.

I use the Cookie-AutoDelete extension and archlinux.org is on the greylist so cookies & caches are kept until browser is restarted.

Once anubis has run once (succesfull or crashed with Oh noes! message) it's not called again.
On some other sites anubis complains its not allowed to store cookies and doesn't even start running.

Did you mention which browser *does* get you the error?
Afaiu falkon should be blink, but the user agent might discriminate Anubis.

I've added browser info to the GitLab issue for reference.

But still, I feel Anubis is clearly pointing at something to check in the logs on the server side, rather than user issue, so there's only so much one can do on the client side.

Can you reproduce this w/ blink/chromium?

No sign anubis is run at all when using chromium from repos (immediately removed again)

I meant imrehg - you've demonstrates blink through falkon and the question would rather be what browser fails for you.
Would not be the first exam script geared towards a specific interpreter…

Certainly fits the pattern
I can check FF Monday night and/or someone should point that out at the bug.

Re: Where to report gitlab.archlinux.org incorrect anubis config ?

Anubis has been blocking me from accessing https://gitlab.archlinux.org/ significantly on stable Google Chrome from AUR. I experience frequent and prolonged Anubis screens and it currently seems like my IP address is banned for the second time, resulting in connection timeouts. The first time it happened the ban lasted ~2 days. This time, the ban has been in place since the last week. This is absolutely maddening, especially since I need to collaborate with package maintainers.

Can anybody help me with getting my IP address unbanned? My GitLab account has the same username.

Re: Where to report gitlab.archlinux.org incorrect anubis config ?

What do you mean by "Anubis has been blocking me"? The level 6 bitcoin mining takes ages™ but if it doesn't crash seems to get cached, so you'll have to endure that only once in a while.

Otherwise send a mail w/ your WAN IP and explaining the problem to accountsupport@archlinux.org
Have you tried IPv4 ./. IPv6?

I get the screen every few requests, especially when accessing source files. Happens on Brave on Android too. Sometimes, the progress is just too slow for me and I abort it, especially when I'm compiling stuff and Anubis is parasitizing on my CPU.

Will do. I only have static, dedicated IPv4 address, which makes it especially problematic.

Sometimes even with the crash it still appears to have cached as authenticated if you click on the home link from the incorrect anubis config screen.
