I've had this laptop for about a year, and around two months ago it began exhibiting this strange behavior.
Whenever I put it under load (e.g. playing TETR.IO, etc.) it immediately shuts down when on battery power and refuses to boot until PSU is connected.
It also appears to just do this every 15 minutes and is also causing me some grief, as every time I am searching for fixes it shuts down.
I'm pretty sure this isn't malware (I checked /tmp), but I am open to the possibility.
I'm also a newbie here, so please be nice
. On that note, if you can find the minimum possible fix, that'd be great! It'd be amazing to use my laptop normally again.

first thing i would try is running it without the battery connected and see what happens
it could also be shutting down due to heat, check to make sure the heatsink is installed correctly and has enough thermal paste, and of course check the temps while its running

OK so I did clean the fans and they work fine
and also what do you mean without the battery connected?
like off of PSU or just removing the battery entirely? (bc I don't particularly want to do that)
Temps are fine.

so its not overheating
you dont want to disconnect the battery so we cant rule that out
what about booting off any linux live system and running that for 15mins to see if the same thing happens.

Well I did that
I idled Hyprland on my Arch system and something similar happened (dead)

no boot from a usb stick an entirely different system, need to rule out your system/ssd being the issue
