I am having the issue that startlxqt does not start the environment, the X-Server just quits, however without writing any error into the Xorg.0.log. It is basically exactly the same behaviour as with kde these days, but kde of course does not support X any more.
startx creates a black screen, as one would expect, but then returns to the shell prompt. .xinitrc contains nothing but "exec startlxqt".
As the xorg logs do not show any abnormalities or even errors, what would be the best way to identify the cause? I suspect I might be missing a package, but have no idea, what that might be.
And it is not a general X issue, as starting f.e. fvwm works fine - so did kde. Until 6.8.
Here are the last lines of the x log:

Strange, but it seems a reboot has solved that issue. I am still having other ones, like obconf-qt segfaulting and screen settings being empty, but this one seems to be solved.

Server teminated cleanly and immediately, ie. the session process failed or crashed.
=> check the system journal or https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Core_d … _core_dump
The X11 server wasn't the problem.
