Hi,
I have a Behringer UMC1820 USB audio interface. By default, it uses the AUX naming conventions, so channels are named playback_AUX0, playback_AUX1, etc.
For an experiment I want to try to use the "consumer" naming convention, with channels named playback_FL, playback_FR etc.
I can select various profile (i.e. "Pro Audio" or "Multichannel Duplex", but they all use the AUX convention.
I've tried various routes ...
Adding a udev rule and a custom profile in
/usr/share/alsa-card-profile/mixer/profile-setsdidn't work.
Adding this config file to
~/.config/wireplumber/wireplumber.conf.d/50-alsa-config.confdidn't work (i tried with and without the acp option):
monitor.alsa.rules = [
{
matches = [
{
device.name = "~alsa_output.usb-BEHRINGER_UMC1820_16928CC7-00*"
}
]
actions = {
update-props = {
api.alsa.use-acp = false
audio.position = [ "FL", "FR", "RL", "RR", "SL", "SR", "FC", "LFE", "AUX0", "AUX1", "AUX2", "AUX3"]
}
}
}
]I'm not even sure whether this file is loaded? Not sure how to check ...
Anyway, it seems like none of these attempts have any effect ... what am I missing here?
Best,
n

Alright, solved it ... basically, you first have to switch of ACP on the DEVICE, then set the property on the NODE:
monitor.alsa.rules = [
{
matches = [
{
device.name = "alsa_card.usb-BEHRINGER_UMC1820_16928CC7-00"
}
]
actions = {
update-props = {
api.alsa.use-acp = false
#api.alsa.use-ucm = false
#device.profile = "pro-audio"
#audio.position = [ "FL", "FR", "RL", "RR", "SL", "SR", "FC", "LFE", "AUX0", "AUX1", "AUX2", "AUX3"]
#audio.channels = 12
}
}
}
{
matches = [
{
node.name = "alsa_output.usb-BEHRINGER_UMC1820_16928CC7-00.playback.0.0"
}
]
actions = {
update-props = {
#api.alsa.use-acp = false
#api.alsa.use-ucm = false
#device.profile = "pro-audio"
audio.position = [ "FL", "FR", "RL", "RR", "SL", "SR", "FC", "LFE", "AUX0", "AUX1", "AUX2", "AUX3"]
audio.channels = 12
}
}
}
]That way, I can re-name the channel properties.
