I've been using Arch for my desktop machines for a long time, but always stuck with Xorg, because Wayland support seemed patchy. Recently had a few days to work on the transition + automation to do it, and it's been going really well!
* Graphical setup: labwc as the compositor, kanshi (display configuration), alacritty (terminal), xfce4-panel (I tried every other option, they sucked in comparison), mako (notifications), ly (display manager), some sway utilities (for screenshots & background).
* Main apps: nnn (file browser), udiskie (for USB mounts), usual CUPS/BlueZ/PipeWire setup, Ristretto (for images), Celluloid (for video playback).
The setup might seem quite bare-bones & disintegrated, but I honestly can't tolerate anything heavier than Xfce, and for now, I decided to go even more disintegrated and bare-bones.
Honestly, what struck me the most was how much my battery life has improved. By the feel of it, it must be like 25%.
I'm quite glad that I was able to (mostly) automate everything this (obviously, for my machines only, but you're welcome to take a look if you want): https://github.com/egor-tensin/infra-desktop

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
